New video: how to complete an entry condition report
It is important for both the tenant and the property manager/owner to fill out the Entry condition report (Form 1a) properly at the start of the tenancy to avoid future problems.
The report is an important document if there is a dispute over the condition of the property at the end of the tenancy.
The RTA’s new video RTA Tenancy essentials: Entry condition report – tenants is part of a new “how to” series and provides advice and tips about the sort of details that need to be accurately documented on the form.
RTA Senior Community Education Officer Lynn Smith said photographs or video were the best ways to support what was written on the form.
"It’s best to complete the report room by room, taking photos of areas that are marked or damaged," she said.
