Understanding QGov

Scheduled QGov outage

9am Saturday 19 June to 7pm Sunday 20 June 2021
Due to a scheduled QGov outage, customers attempting to create a new QGov account will be unable to do so if they are using immigration documents to prove their identity. Customers using other identity documents to create a new QGov account are not impacted by this outage. A QGov account is required to access all RTA Web Services.

NEW

QGov now accepts Australian visas and Australian citizenship certificates as primary documents for verifying your digital ID. Find out more on the QGov website.

QGov is the Queensland Government’s secure, digital identity verification platform.  RTA Web Services is one of a number of Queensland Government online services that require a customer login.

To protect your security, the RTA requires all Web Service customers to verify their digital identity through QGov. This digital ID verification is a substitute for your signature on a paper form and helps keep your online transactions with the RTA secure.

When you begin any of the RTA’s Web Services, you will be prompted to login to your QGov account, or create a QGov account if you are a new user.

Verifying your identity through QGov

To create a QGov account, you will need 100 points of Australian or state-issued identification ready, including at least one of the following primary documents:

  • Australian passport
  • Australian state or territory-issued driver’s licence
  • Australian birth certificate.
  • Australian visa *NEW*
  • Certificate of Australian citizenship.*NEW*

Once you have verified your identity once you simply need to log into QGov each time you want to use Web Services.
